Maid Levy
Information about Maid Levy

"Hey, curious about the current foreign maid levy in Singapore? The government set it at $300 for the first maid and $450 for the second one, starting April 1, 2019. Singaporeans get a sweet deal with a $60 concessionary rate if they have a young child, elderly family member, or a person with a disability.
To qualify, you need to be a Singaporean living with an eligible person—either a young child below 16, an elderly person at least 67, or someone with disabilities certified by a Singapore-registered doctor. Apply here, and if approved, the levy concession kicks in.
Note: One concession is granted based on one eligible person in the household, capped at two FDWs per household.
If you're approaching 67 or just had a baby, no need to apply—the concession kicks in automatically. Changes in eligibility or the number of maids mean the levy rate might adjust immediately.
For PRs or expats, the levy is $300 for the first maid and $450 for the second. Pay via GIRO, and if you don't have an account, apply here. The levy is deducted on the 17th of the following month, so ensure your account has enough funds.
Fail to pay on time, and you'll face penalties—2% per month or $20, capped at 30% of the outstanding levy. Your maid's Work Permit may be revoked, and you can't apply for a new one. Legal action might follow.
